June 22 (Reuters) – Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh will deliver his first testimony on monetary policy before Congress on July 14, at 10 a.m. ET (1400 GMT), according to a hearing notice published by the House Financial Services Committee on Monday.
The U.S. central bank chief is required by law to testify before Congress twice a year, in February and in July, and would typically be expected to appear at the Senate Banking Committee on July 15. A staffer for the Senate committee did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation of that date.
Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill never did schedule Warsh’s predecessor, Jerome Powell, for this year’s February session. The Department of Justice had late last year opened a criminal investigation into statements Powell made to the Senate Banking Committee in his July 2025 testimony.
A federal judge ruled the DOJ probe was an inappropriate effort to pressure him to lower rates or resign, and it has since been suspended.
