Great news if you’re somebody who drives out to North Carolina with any regularity throughout the year.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation announced that they expect top open I-40 across the state line through the Pigeon River Gorge by the new year! We saw the damage that Hurricane Helene made over there just over a month ago so this is great news.
It wouldn’t be a completely done deal, just 1 narrow lane in each direction while they work to get long-term restoration done. Details HERE
