Safe to say Tennessee is growing rapidly, which can be good in a lot of ways, but is also concerning when you think about how much farmland has been lost in the last couple years.
Now, an effort to preserve farmland has stalled in the state Senate. A proposed “Farmland Preservation Fund” would essentially have farmers in the program receiving additional money from the state to keep farming their land.. in turn, the farmers would agree NOT to sell their land to developers for at least 15 years.
