RIP Coyote McCloud

The legendary Nashville DJ will be missed.

A legendary radio voice in Nashville has been silenced.  Coyote McCloud died yesterday after a nearly 8 month battle against Cirrhosis of the Liver. Coyote, who legally changed his name from William Lehmann, worked at numerous radio station for over nearly 40 years at stations WSM, WRVW, WWKX, WZPZ, WRQQ and WMAK.  Coyote gained his biggest popularity in the 80’s on WYHY as the leader of the “Zoo Crew.”  Some of his on-air antics gained him national attention on TV program 60 minutes.  Coyote was also the voice of CMT when it went on the air in 1993.

Coyote’s former wife Susan posted this note on Facebook late yesterday chronicling his last moments.

Coyote will be missed by all here at South Central Media.
